I have more than 5 years experience tutoring elementary through high school students. My experience includes, but is not limited to, tutoring and homework help for the America Reads Program, pre-kindergarten preparation and reading comprehension and writing proficiency test preparation. I want to be a tutor because I enjoy helping students learn. I am knowledgeable of child developmental principles through coursework and state child welfare training. I am currently studying educational psychology and learning how to apply research findings on learning styles and motivation to individual instruction. I earned my degree from a liberal arts university; this means my undergraduate program included a solid foundation in math, science, writing, the arts, social sciences, cultural/religious/philosophical diversity, etc. My major tracks were writing and reading intensive and I have extensive experience writing APA style research papers. I also worked as a faculty assistant for a psychology professor.
